1.6 Jesus Death - Part 1: The Temple Curtain

I'd like to look at two things relating to Jesus death. This first one being a difference in the time when the curtain of the temple was torn. This part of the narrative comes up in the three synoptic gospels:

Matthew 27:50-51
Then Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and gave up his spirit. Just then the temple curtain was torn in two, from top to bottom.

Mark 15:37-38
But Jesus cried out with a loud voice and breathed his last. And the temple curtain was torn in two, from top to bottom.

Luke 23:45-46
The temple curtain was torn in two. Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And after he said this he breathed his last.

The difference is fairly subtle revolving around the sequence of the narrative and the words 'and' and 'then', but it's there. In Luke the temple curtain is torn in two before Jesus dies, in Matthew it's afterwards and in Mark it's at the same time.
